Cobalt sulfonated phthalocyanine is an efficient catalyst for the removal of Mercaptan from light oil. The content of Mercaptan in gasoline from sulfur-containing crude oil refining is high. The gasoline-coated Mercaptan has the characteristics of Malodor, corrosion and lead content reduction. Meanwhile, Mercaptan is an oxidation initiator, which can promote the oxidation and condensation of unstable components in gasoline into Gel, resulting in the poor storage stability of gasoline. Cobalt sulfonated phthalocyanine is a high efficient catalyst for the removal of Mercaptan and sulfur from oil with the same effect. When in use, the catalyst is dissolved in 10% lye, heated briefly for a period of time, and stirred to dissolve, and then can be used. The operation is convenient and the dilute lye can be recycled.
